Meet The Writer
Hey there, I'm Veronica.
I’m a Californian who somehow ended up on the other side of the world in Australia-- but that's a story for my Substack. I’ve always been an introvert with a knack for observation, the kind of person who listens more than they speak and has the memory of an elephant. Writing started as amateur blogging (Myspace anyone?), and gradually I turned towards freelance work once I realised curiosity could be a career.
Along the way, travel sharpened my eye as I visited over 30 countries, photography taught me how to frame a moment intentionally, and living with fibromyalgia taught me to slow down and pay attention to what actually matters. I’ve been married to my husband, Cameron, for eight years, live with two cats who consider my desk their personal property, and I also work as a barista to fit the perfect cliche.

Why Me?
In an age of AI slop, let me be your golden ticket to authenticity, powerful narratives, and deep storytelling that could never be captured by someone (or rather something) that hasn't lived it.

Grounded education, not just vibes
Associate’s degree in Literature, Bachelor’s in Cultural Anthropology, minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and currently pursuing a Master’s in Humanitarian Aid and Sustainable Development to use my voice as a writer to bring attention to causes that demand it. -
Over a decade of real-world writing experience
10+ years freelancing across social media, email marketing, retail, web copywriting, articles, and blogs. I know how writing functions in the wild, not just on a page. -
Clear niches, flexible voice
Travel, culture, sustainability, and lifestyle writing, with the ability to shift tone from editorial to brand to advocacy without losing substance or credibility. -
Reader-first, always
I write for humans before algorithms. The work is readable, observant, and intentional, designed to hold attention rather than game it. -
Strategic without sounding like it
I understand structure, audience, SEO, and purpose, but the writing never feels engineered.
